WHERE’S BANE! was the cheer of the weekend when Troop 30 went camping at Greenbelt Campground with a visit to Washington D.C. The troop rode the metro, toured the capital, visited the National Museum of the American Indian and the National Air and Space Museum, and stood in front of the Supreme Court in the rain. Only three tents returned home dry.

In a coupe of weeks, we have two crews leaving for New Mexico to tackle the high adventure of Philmont!
New Scouts & Families:
This year we welcomed 10 new scouts to our Troop along with their families.
Again, welcome to all the newest scouts and their families and thank you for those that are already helping out by volunteering their time! Many hands make light work.
As a reminder per the new Scouts BSA rule starting September 1st, to go on a campout as an adult you will need to be a registered member of Scouts BSA. More information to come, and in the meantime if you have any additional questions please reach out to myself or Mr. Aiken.
Troop 30 will be joining the community to celebrate Memorial Day by marching in the Parade.
It’s going to start at the old Avon Grove high school at 9:00 AM by turning left onto State Road, then right on Prospect Avenue, then turning right on West Evergreen where it ends at the Veterans Memorial where the ceremonies will take place.
Our sponsoring church, West Grove Presbyterian, hosts a party to help commemorate the holiday at the church.
Memorial Day is a day where we honor those heroes who have made the ultimate sacrifice in service to this country. We hope to see you all there.
On April 21st Troop 30 drove out to Gettysburg for our early spring camping trip. We all had a lot of fun!
Saturday morning we hiked in the Gettysburg National Military Park. There were lots of monuments and cannons to see. There is so much history in Gettysburg you could spend days walking around.
In the afternoon we went to the Gettysburg Visitors Center where we toured the building and learned so many new facts. We were also treated to a movie narrated by Morgan Freeman called A New Birth of Freedom.
Unfortunately we got rained out on Saturday so we had to quickly pack up and leave for home.
All in all the scouts had another great adventure as Troop 30!
Hello everyone, this is Lloyd here, your former webmaster.
As of the 9th of November, I have officially aged out of Troop 30. Thus, it is time to transfer ownership of the website and all future posts to someone new. In this case, it will be easy – my brother, Joseph. Hopefully the site prospers in the years to come under his leadership.
Thank you for the support across the many years I have managed this site. Here’s to many years to come for troop30bsa.org!
Despite the times we live in that doesn’t put an end to camping. During the week of the 18th-19th scouts across the council set up campfires and slept under the stars right in their own backyards. Here are some of the highlights our troop showed off!
